The plant’s power supply had to be completely renewed – during ongoing operations.

Background

We have been the electrotechnical system partner of Ball Packaging Europe GmbH, which has a broad presence in Europe, for many years.

Task

KSV’s task in this exciting project included the comprehensive renewal of the protection technology as well as the complete retrofit of the medium and low voltage technology.
The existing switchgear was completely overhauled and replaced with new switchgear, with a Vamocon switchgear being used on the low-voltage side and a Siemens 8DJH on the medium-voltage side.
In addition, a control cabinet was replaced or modernized and new control technology for monitoring and controlling the plant’s energy supply was implemented.
